totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist."

Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the
federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law,
arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain
people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of "an
emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid
development of new programs."

 

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid
contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to
build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.
The government has also contracted with several companies to build
thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly
to transport detainees.

 

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is
part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal
the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."

 

Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have
complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars
should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is:
What kind of "new programs" require the construction and refurbishment
of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to
house perhaps millions of people?

 

Sect. 1042 of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "Use of
the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies," gives the executive the
power to invoke martial law. For the first time in more than a century, the
president is now authorized to use the military in response to "a natural
disaster, a disease outbreak, a terrorist attack or any other condition in
which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the
extent that state officials cannot maintain public order."

 

The Military Commissions Act of 2006, rammed through Congress just
before the 2006 midterm elections, allows for the indefinite imprisonment
of anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on a list of
"terrorist" organizations, or who speaks out against the government's
policies. The law calls for secret trials for citizens and noncitizens alike.

 

Also in 2007, the White House quietly issued National Security Presidential
Directive 51 (NSPD-51), to ensure "continuity of government" in the event
of what the document vaguely calls a "catastrophic emergency." Should
the president determine that such an emergency has occurred, he and he
alone is empowered to do whatever he deems necessary to ensure
"continuity of government." This could include everything from canceling
elections to suspending the Constitution to launching a nuclear attack.
Congress has yet to hold a single hearing on NSPD-51.

 

U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County) has come up with a
new way to expand the domestic "war on terror." Her Violent Radicalization
and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (HR1955), which passed
the House by the lopsided vote of 404-6, would set up a commission to
"examine and report upon the facts and causes" of so-called violent
radicalism and extremist ideology, then make legislative recommendations
on combatting it.

 

According to commentary in the Baltimore Sun, Rep. Harman and her
colleagues from both sides of the aisle believe the country faces a native
brand of terrorism, and needs a commission with sweeping investigative
power to combat it.

 

A clue as to where Harman's commission might be aiming is the Animal
Enterprise Terrorism Act, a law that labels those who "engage in sit-ins,
civil disobedience, trespass, or any other crime in the name of animal
rights" as terrorists. Other groups in the crosshairs could be anti-abortion
protesters, anti-tax agitators, immigration activists, environmentalists,
peace demonstrators, Second Amendment rights supporters ... the list
goes on and on. According to author Naomi Wolf, the National
Counterterrorism Center holds the names of roughly 775,000 "terror
suspects" with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.

 

What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make
contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?

 

The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power
under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use
the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.

These videos are presented WITHOUT ANY CREDITS BEING GIVEN. These videos are supposedly produced by a CIA agent; who found his OWN NAME on a list of people to be liquidated, and then decided to tell the public. The voice is electronically altered. There is always a government shill who is ready to tell us that we should not believe what we see with our own eyes.  His usual routine is to tell us that there is something magic about our time, or our location that makes it different from all other times and places. Sometimes he will claim that a new technology makes us safe. Governments are usually ahead of the little people on making use of new technologies.   

 

This happens over and over again, and the main reason that it happens over and over again is because people will not face the simple horrible reality, and deal with it.

People are predisposed to ignore a horrible reality.

Even people who KNOW that this happens over and over again just keep saying "It can't happen here." 

This is pure madness, but it is also sometimes the result of clever government propaganda. The government shills will spin the awareness of the people into ignoring the horrible reality.

It does not matter if we are hearing pure madness or clever government propaganda. In either case it is fatal to deal with government shills or ignorant dreamers.

The usual procedure is that ten or twenty stormtroopers take one man, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. If he still has a gun, his gun never comes out, because it happens too fast. He does not even wake the neighbors. Usually he thinks that he will be able to work it out in court.

Since an entire ARMY of stormtroopers focuses on one town at a time,

the next morning thousands of people are gone.

WHOEVER IS LEFT IS SCARED TO DEATH, AND THEY ARE JUST GLAD THAT THEY WERE NOT TAKEN. The people in the next town never know what happened until it is their turn. Communications systems "fail" as soon as it begins.

Increases in technology work to the benefit of tyranny. High tech systems cost too much for the little people, but not too much for government. Ask what is left of the Branch Dravidians in Waco.

At the time that the Feds came to snatch Elian Gonzalez every cell phone stopped working. They can also turn off electricity  and come in with night vision equipment. Battery operated strobe lights might be a good purchase. Do not be quiet. Sound an alarm. Wake the neighbors. Loud sirens of security systems, fog horns or bells might be nice.

 

Tell those people who just keep saying "It can't happen here" to talk with an American Indian or a Japanese American. It has ALREADY happened here.

One spin that is being put forth is the assertion that "martial law" was just a figure of speech. This assertion is that Rep Michael Burgess was referring to martial law under the rules of Congress. Look at the passion of Rep Michael Burgess and see if he could possibly be responding to a "figure of speech", or some of the rules of Congress.

A part of this spin is that the idea that this martial law only applies to the Congress, not to the American people.

Would this really be important if this was true? This is like being told that you are not being killed, BUT you are just having your heart removed.

If you know nothing else about Roman history you know that Caesar left the Senate functioning as a semblance of the old Republic.

The important change was that the only function of the Senator was to do exactly as Caesar said to do.

You will see YET ANOTHER discussion (in the SENATE) about the plans to suspend the constitution.  You will see quite a bit of obfuscation about this using the claim that this subject is "classified". Everything about the creation of tyranny is always "classified".

 

It is not at all ambiguous.

 

The Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and a few hundred Executive Orders that are detailed in the videos, were not passed by Pelosi.  Pelosi simply invoked these. If you look and see who it was that put these things in place you will know that this has nothing to do with partisan politics. The enabling legislation is all in place.

Two watchman on the wall lookout across the horizon and see a massive army  approaching. One grabs the trumpet and raises it to his lips to warn the people. The other says:

"Now, wait a minute. If you blow that trumpet you are going to scare a lot of people. The people are asleep now. Would it not be better to let them sleep peacefully until this army is actually inside the city killing people, and setting the city on fire? The people are not ready to hear about this yet. This army has not killed anyone yet. Have they? What can the people do about that army anyway? I think it would be better if we just organize a study club to debate about the issues.

Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the
federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law,
arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain
people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of "an
emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid
development of new programs."

 

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid
contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to
build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.
The government has also contracted with several companies to build
thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly
to transport detainees.

 

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is
part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal
the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."

 

Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have
complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars
should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is:
What kind of "new programs" require the construction and refurbishment
of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to
house perhaps millions of people?

 

Sect. 1042 of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "Use of
the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies," gives the executive the
power to invoke martial law. For the first time in more than a century, the
president is now authorized to use the military in response to "a natural
disaster, a disease outbreak, a terrorist attack or any other condition in
which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the
extent that state officials cannot maintain public order."

 

The Military Commissions Act of 2006, rammed through Congress just
before the 2006 midterm elections, allows for the indefinite imprisonment
of anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on a list of
"terrorist" organizations, or who speaks out against the government's
policies. The law calls for secret trials for citizens and noncitizens alike.

 

Also in 2007, the White House quietly issued National Security Presidential
Directive 51 (NSPD-51), to ensure "continuity of government" in the event
of what the document vaguely calls a "catastrophic emergency." Should
the president determine that such an emergency has occurred, he and he
alone is empowered to do whatever he deems necessary to ensure
"continuity of government." This could include everything from canceling
elections to suspending the Constitution to launching a nuclear attack.
Congress has yet to hold a single hearing on NSPD-51.

 

U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County) has come up with a
new way to expand the domestic "war on terror." Her Violent Radicalization
and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (HR1955), which passed
the House by the lopsided vote of 404-6, would set up a commission to
"examine and report upon the facts and causes" of so-called violent
radicalism and extremist ideology, then make legislative recommendations
on combatting it.

 

According to commentary in the Baltimore Sun, Rep. Harman and her
colleagues from both sides of the aisle believe the country faces a native
brand of terrorism, and needs a commission with sweeping investigative
power to combat it.

 

A clue as to where Harman's commission might be aiming is the Animal
Enterprise Terrorism Act, a law that labels those who "engage in sit-ins,
civil disobedience, trespass, or any other crime in the name of animal
rights" as terrorists. Other groups in the crosshairs could be anti-abortion
protesters, anti-tax agitators, immigration activists, environmentalists,
peace demonstrators, Second Amendment rights supporters ... the list
goes on and on. According to author Naomi Wolf, the National
Counterterrorism Center holds the names of roughly 775,000 "terror
suspects" with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.

 

What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make
contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?

 

The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power
under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use
the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.

People are predisposed to ignore a horrible reality.

Even people who KNOW that this happens over and over again just keep saying "It can't happen here." 

This is pure madness, but it is also sometimes the result of clever government propaganda. The government shills will spin the awareness of the people into ignoring the horrible reality.

It does not matter if we are hearing pure madness or clever government propaganda. In either case it is fatal to deal with government shills or ignorant dreamers.

The usual procedure is that ten or twenty stormtroopers take one man, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. If he still has a gun, his gun never comes out, because it happens too fast. He does not even wake the neighbors. Usually he thinks that he will be able to work it out in court.

Since an entire ARMY of stormtroopers focuses on one town at a time,

the next morning thousands of people are gone.

WHOEVER IS LEFT IS SCARED TO DEATH, AND THEY ARE JUST GLAD THAT THEY WERE NOT TAKEN. The people in the next town never know what happened until it is their turn. Communications systems "fail" as soon as it begins.

Increases in technology work to the benefit of tyranny. High tech systems cost too much for the little people, but not too much for government. Ask what is left of the Branch Dravidians in Waco.

At the time that the Feds came to snatch Elian Gonzalez every cell phone stopped working. They can also turn off electricity  and come in with night vision equipment. Battery operated strobe lights might be a good purchase. Do not be quiet. Sound an alarm. Wake the neighbors. Loud sirens of security systems, fog horns or bells might be nice.

 

Tell those people who just keep saying "It can't happen here" to talk with an American Indian or a Japanese American. It has ALREADY happened here.

One spin that is being put forth is the assertion that "martial law" was just a figure of speech. This assertion is that Rep Michael Burgess was referring to martial law under the rules of Congress. Look at the passion of Rep Michael Burgess and see if he could possibly be responding to a "figure of speech", or some of the rules of Congress.

It is not at all ambiguous.

 

The Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and a few hundred Executive Orders that are detailed in the videos, were not passed by Pelosi.  Pelosi simply invoked these. If you look and see who it was that put these things in place you will know that this has nothing to do with partisan politics. The enabling legislation is all in place.

PHOENIX -- The Arizona House approved a bill Wednesday that would require presidential candidates to show his or her birth certificate in order to be on the state's ballot.

The House approved the measure on a 31-29 vote after four Republicans joined all of the Democrats in opposing it. The measure still faces a Senate vote.

It would require U.S. presidential candidates who want to appear on the Arizona ballot to submit documents proving they meet the constitutional requirements to be president.

So-called "birthers" have contended since the 2008 presidential campaign that President Obama was born abroad, even after his official Hawaii birth certificate was made public along with birth notices that two Honolulu newspapers published in August 1961.

The Constitution says a person must be a "natural-born citizen" to be eligible for the presidency. Skeptics suggest Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate is fake and say he was actually born in Kenya, his father's homeland.

Supporters of the Arizona measure say it would help settle the controversy.

"I support this measure in order to remove this as any type of issue in the future," said Rep. Cecil Ash, R-Mesa.

Opponents say it's a waste of time that makes Arizona mocked by the rest of the country.

"I am ashamed that this is even a topic of discussion," said Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Phoenix.

The measure would require the secretary of state to review candidates' documents and withhold a candidate from the ballot if he has "reasonable cause" to believe ineligibility.

Courts have rebuffed lawsuits challenging Obama's eligibility to be president, but the issue hasn't gone away.

his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all
totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist."

Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the
federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law,
arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain
people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of "an
emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid
development of new programs."

 

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid
contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to
build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.
The government has also contracted with several companies to build
thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly
to transport detainees.

 

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is
part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal
the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."

 

Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have
complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars
should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is:
What kind of "new programs" require the construction and refurbishment
of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to
house perhaps millions of people?

 

Sect. 1042 of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "Use of
the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies," gives the executive the
power to invoke martial law. For the first time in more than a century, the
president is now authorized to use the military in response to "a natural
disaster, a disease outbreak, a terrorist attack or any other condition in
which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the
extent that state officials cannot maintain public order."

 

The Military Commissions Act of 2006, rammed through Congress just
before the 2006 midterm elections, allows for the indefinite imprisonment
of anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on a list of
"terrorist" organizations, or who speaks out against the government's
policies. The law calls for secret trials for citizens and noncitizens alike.

 

Also in 2007, the White House quietly issued National Security Presidential
Directive 51 (NSPD-51), to ensure "continuity of government" in the event
of what the document vaguely calls a "catastrophic emergency." Should
the president determine that such an emergency has occurred, he and he
alone is empowered to do whatever he deems necessary to ensure
"continuity of government." This could include everything from canceling
elections to suspending the Constitution to launching a nuclear attack.
Congress has yet to hold a single hearing on NSPD-51.

 

U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County) has come up with a
new way to expand the domestic "war on terror." Her Violent Radicalization
and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (HR1955), which passed
the House by the lopsided vote of 404-6, would set up a commission to
"examine and report upon the facts and causes" of so-called violent
radicalism and extremist ideology, then make legislative recommendations
on combatting it.

 

According to commentary in the Baltimore Sun, Rep. Harman and her
colleagues from both sides of the aisle believe the country faces a native
brand of terrorism, and needs a commission with sweeping investigative
power to combat it.

 

A clue as to where Harman's commission might be aiming is the Animal
Enterprise Terrorism Act, a law that labels those who "engage in sit-ins,
civil disobedience, trespass, or any other crime in the name of animal
rights" as terrorists. Other groups in the crosshairs could be anti-abortion
protesters, anti-tax agitators, immigration activists, environmentalists,
peace demonstrators, Second Amendment rights supporters ... the list
goes on and on. According to author Naomi Wolf, the National
Counterterrorism Center holds the names of roughly 775,000 "terror
suspects" with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.

 

What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make
contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?

 

The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power
under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use
the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.

These videos are presented WITHOUT ANY CREDITS BEING GIVEN. These videos are supposedly produced by a CIA agent; who found his OWN NAME on a list of people to be liquidated, and then decided to tell the public. The voice is electronically altered. People are predisposed to ignore a horrible reality.

Even people who KNOW that this happens over and over again just keep saying "It can't happen here." 

This is pure madness, but it is also sometimes the result of clever government propaganda. The government shills will spin the awareness of the people into ignoring the horrible reality.

It does not matter if we are hearing pure madness or clever government propaganda. In either case it is fatal to deal with government shills or ignorant dreamers.

The usual procedure is that ten or twenty stormtroopers take one man, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. If he still has a gun, his gun never comes out, because it happens too fast. He does not even wake the neighbors. Usually he thinks that he will be able to work it out in court.

Since an entire ARMY of stormtroopers focuses on one town at a time,

the next morning thousands of people are gone.

WHOEVER IS LEFT IS SCARED TO DEATH, AND THEY ARE JUST GLAD THAT THEY WERE NOT TAKEN. The people in the next town never know what happened until it is their turn. Communications systems "fail" as soon as it begins.

Increases in technology work to the benefit of tyranny. High tech systems cost too much for the little people, but not too much for government. Ask what is left of the Branch Dravidians in Waco.

At the time that the Feds came to snatch Elian Gonzalez every cell phone stopped working. They can also turn off electricity  and come in with night vision equipment. Battery operated strobe lights might be a good purchase. Do not be quiet. Sound an alarm. Wake the neighbors. Loud sirens of security systems, fog horns or bells might be nice.

 

Tell those people who just keep saying "It can't happen here" to talk with an American Indian or a Japanese American. It has ALREADY happened here.

One spin that is being put forth is the assertion that "martial law" was just a figure of speech. This assertion is that Rep Michael Burgess was referring to martial law under the rules of Congress. Look at the passion of Rep Michael Burgess and see if he could possibly be responding to a "figure of speech", or some of the rules of Congress.

A part of this spin is that the idea that this martial law only applies to the Congress, not to the American people.

Would this really be important if this was true? This is like being told that you are not being killed, BUT you are just having your heart removed.

If you look and see who it was that put these things in place you will know that this has nothing to do with partisan politics. The enabling legislation is all in place.

Would it not be better to let them sleep peacefully until this army is actually inside the city killing people, and setting the city on fire? The people are not ready to hear about this yet. This army has not killed anyone yet. Have they? What can the people do about that army anyway? I think it would be better if we just organize a study club to debate about the issues.

Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the
federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law,
arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain
people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of "an
emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid
development of new programs."

 

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid
contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to
build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.
The government has also contracted with several companies to build
thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly
to transport detainees.

 

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is
part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal
the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."

 

Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have
complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars
should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is:
What kind of "new programs" require the construction and refurbishment
of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to
house perhaps millions of people?

 

Sect. 1042 of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "Use of
the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies," gives the executive the
power to invoke martial law. For the first time in more than a century, the
president is now authorized to use the military in response to "a natural
disaster, a disease outbreak, a terrorist attack or any other condition in
which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the
extent that state officials cannot maintain public order."

 

The Military Commissions Act of 2006, rammed through Congress just
before the 2006 midterm elections, allows for the indefinite imprisonment
of anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on a list of
"terrorist" organizations, or who speaks out against the government's
policies. The law calls for secret trials for citizens and noncitizens alike.

 

Also in 2007, the White House quietly issued National Security Presidential
Directive 51 (NSPD-51), to ensure "continuity of government" in the event
of what the document vaguely calls a "catastrophic emergency." Should
the president determine that such an emergency has occurred, he and he
alone is empowered to do whatever he deems necessary to ensure
"continuity of government." This could include everything from canceling
elections to suspending the Constitution to launching a nuclear attack.
Congress has yet to hold a single hearing on NSPD-51.

 

U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County) has come up with a
new way to expand the domestic "war on terror." Her Violent Radicalization
and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (HR1955), which passed
the House by the lopsided vote of 404-6, would set up a commission to
"examine and report upon the facts and causes" of so-called violent
radicalism and extremist ideology, then make legislative recommendations
on combatting it.

 

According to commentary in the Baltimore Sun, Rep. Harman and her
colleagues from both sides of the aisle believe the country faces a native
brand of terrorism, and needs a commission with sweeping investigative
power to combat it.

 

A clue as to where Harman's commission might be aiming is the Animal
Enterprise Terrorism Act, a law that labels those who "engage in sit-ins,
civil disobedience, trespass, or any other crime in the name of animal
rights" as terrorists. Other groups in the crosshairs could be anti-abortion
protesters, anti-tax agitators, immigration activists, environmentalists,
peace demonstrators, Second Amendment rights supporters ... the list
goes on and on. According to author Naomi Wolf, the National
Counterterrorism Center holds the names of roughly 775,000 "terror
suspects" with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.

 

What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make
contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?

 

The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power
under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use
the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.

There is always a government shill who is ready to tell us that we should not believe what we see with our own eyes.  His usual routine is to tell us that there is something magic about our time, or our location that makes it different from all other times and places. Sometimes he will claim that a new technology makes us safe. Governments are usually ahead of the little people on making use of new technologies.   

 

This happens over and over again, and the main reason that it happens over and over again is because people will not face the simple horrible reality, and deal with it.

People are predisposed to ignore a horrible reality.

Even people who KNOW that this happens over and over again just keep saying "It can't happen here." 

This is pure madness, but it is also sometimes the result of clever government propaganda. The government shills will spin the awareness of the people into ignoring the horrible reality.

It does not matter if we are hearing pure madness or clever government propaganda. In either case it is fatal to deal with government shills or ignorant dreamers.

The usual procedure is that ten or twenty stormtroopers take one man, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. If he still has a gun, his gun never comes out, because it happens too fast. He does not even wake the neighbors. Usually he thinks that he will be able to work it out in court.

Since an entire ARMY of stormtroopers focuses on one town at a time,

the next morning thousands of people are gone.

WHOEVER IS LEFT IS SCARED TO DEATH, AND THEY ARE JUST GLAD THAT THEY WERE NOT TAKEN. The people in the next town never know what happened until it is their turn. Communications systems "fail" as soon as it begins.

Increases in technology work to the benefit of tyranny. High tech systems cost too much for the little people, but not too much for government. Ask what is left of the Branch Dravidians in Waco.

At the time that the Feds came to snatch Elian Gonzalez every cell phone stopped working. They can also turn off electricity  and come in with night vision equipment. Why Socialism MUST Become Totalitarian

Why Socialism produces poverty.

 

Many of the things that are refered to as "capitalist" are not free enterprise, but are monopolist. Communism is a state monopoly; which is not unlike the monopoly robber barrons. Communism is just a BIGGER monopoly.

 

"Protectionism, Socialism, and Communism are the same plant, in three stages of development." Frederick Bastiat

 

A communist is just a socialist; who is in a hurry. Socialism MUST ultimately be totalitarian.

 

The basic premise of Socialism is:

 

"To each according to his need. From each according to his ability".

 

Giving to each according to his need cannot be accomplished without getting from each according to his ability.

Getting from each according to his ability cannot be accomplished without one of two incentives:

 

There are two types of incentives: Reward or punishment.

 

Very rarely, is it possible to provide psychological rewards that will replace material rewards. The exception would be among people of strong religious faith.

 

"To each according to his need" usually implies that material rewards cannot exist. More or better work does NOT bring more or better rewards. Workers are rewarded in accordance with their NEED; which is not greater because they have been more productive, or more creative.

 

This is why every form of socialism MUST be totalitarian.

 

WITHOUT THE ENTICEMENT OF SPIRITUAL REWARD IT CANNOT BE ANY OTHER WAY.

 

Force is needed to require labor from people; who are not allowed to keep the fruits of their own labor. Even with forced work quotas, productivity is minimal.

 

Free societies have millions of salesmen trying to market the excess.

Socialist societies have millions of ration clerks trying to divide up the shortages.

 

The cliché is that social economies are based on two pretenses:

 

The people pretend to work and the government pretends to pay them.

 

Which countries GIVE foreign aid, and which countries RECEIVE foreign aid?

 

Where is the "bread basket of the world"?

 

Socialism has its greatest impact on creativity. Creativity cannot be forced.

 

In what country was the telephone invented?

In what country was the airplane invented?

In what country was the light bulb invented?

In what country was the cotton gin invented?

In what country was the computer invented?

In what country was the automobile invented?

 

Do your own Google search.

 

It is possible to find HUNDREDS of inventions listed, along with the date, and the country where the invention occured. Try to find an invention that was invented under Socialism.

 

The only time that you will find an invention, that was invented under Socialism, will be when the invention serves to needs of the state (weapons of war etc.)

 

In what country was electricity discovered?

In what country was atomic energy discovered?

 

What made "the Dark Ages" so dark?

There was an absence of liberty; world wide.

 

If you think that Socialism is our future, study up on the dark ages.

Poverty is solved by only one means: increasing productivity.
Redistribution of wealth does not decrease poverty.

Redistribution of wealth increases poverty.

Redistribution of wealth removes the incentive for productivity;

both from those who receive without working,

and also from those who work without receiving.

 

Redistribution of wealth  makes everyone equally poor.

Many thanks to the Mises Institute for making this classic available again for viewing.  Released in 1975 by World Research, Inc. this film includes an introduction by then-Secretary of the Treasury, William E. Simon, and interviews with professors Walter Heller (University of Minnesota) and Milton Friedman (University of Chicago). Moderated by Dr. Richard Rogge (Wabash College). The film also features a cameo appearance by Murray N. Rothbard. Written by Karl Keating, Susan Love Brown, Patrea Post and Stuart Smith.

 

Wow!  What a fantastic trip down Memory Lane!  I used to show this wonderful film on the TU campus when I was a young libertarian activist, in the days before DVDs, before VCRs, using an old reel-to-reel projector.  Its powerful message of the inter-relationship between personal freedom and economic freedom still resounds loud and clear. This is still a radical message.  Its been decades since I last saw it but it has remained fresh and timeless in my memory. 

 

The dramatic examples of government abusing the rights of citizens used in the film shocked people at the time. Today, 34 years later, most persons have become so complaisant and resigned to government thuggery that such incidents have become everyday occurrences, and are likely to turn up on Youtube shot from someone's phone, not to shock but simply to amuse the clueless masses. 

 

It was great to see Murray Rothbard again in the movie.  He is the professor gleefully discussing the pitfalls of urban renewal as the film repeatedly shows the demolition of public housing projects from around the nation, such as the infamous Pruit-Igoe complex in St. Louis.  And it was good to see Milton Friedman again.  Notice that the filmmakers did not pair these two rival economists together.  That was because there was more substantial disagreement between these two, the Austrian School Misean Rothbard and the Chicago School Monetarist Friedman, than between Friedman and the Keynesian hack Walter Heller, who was called upon to defend the ideas of liberalism of the day. 

 

Notice also how Heller's tired, exhaused arguments could today be put in the mouths of Barack Obama, Paul Krugman, or any contemporary spokesman for fossilized liberalism without changing a syllable.  Some things never change.

 

Hey, isn't Susan Love Brown terrific!  You just wanna hug her.  I met her not long after this film was made.  And I still have my first edition copy of The Incredible Bread Machine, the terrific book upon which this film was based.  Still a great read, and unfortunately a collector's item.  Maybe the Mises Institute will republish it too.

 

Now maybe Mises will post more wonderful WRI award-winning films, such as Libra, The Poverty Trap, Not Mine To Give, and The Inflation File.  Wouldn't that be great.

THE LITTLE RED HEN, ONCE UPON A TIME

 

Once upon a time, on a farm in Arkansas, there was a little red hen

who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains

of wheat.

 

She called all of her neighbors together and said, "If we plant this

wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?"

 

"Not I," said the cow.

A Constitutional Convention is not a procedure for making a small change.

A Constitutional Convention is not a procedure for enforcing an existing law.

A Constitutional Convention is a procedure for giving us an ENTIRELY NEW Constitution.

THERE IS NO WAY TO "LIMIT" a Constitutional Convention TO ONE ISSUE.

If you want one amendment, then you present an amendment.

You do not put the ENTIRE Constitution at risk for one amendment.

The only reason that Constitutional Convention is being promoted as the solution TO JUST ONE problem, is that the hidden agenda would be considered to be outrageous.

 

Unbelievably, one outlandish argument for writing a new constitution, is the fact that government has ignored the constitution that we have. We are supposed to assume that the government could not possibly ignore any newly written constitution.

  

If government ignores the constitution, and usurps power now, what would the government do if we let them write a new constitution? 

  

Maybe then the government would stop ignoring the constitution, and usurping power, because then they would have a new constitution that they do not need to ignore. That would be because that new constitution says that the government has all the power that there is.

  

A Constitutional Convention is not a procedure for enforcing existing law. If the problem is the ignoring of the constitution then ignoring of the constitution is what needs to be fixed. What would you do if a physician suggested a heart transplant because you have an upset stomuch? What would you do if a mechanic said to replace the motor when your car is simply out of gas?

 

These arguments are so stupid that we have to wonder if this is something more sinister than mere stupidity.

 

 

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a Constitutional Convention "for a balanced budget". THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a Constitutional Convention "to return power to the states."

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a Constitutional Convention "to stop illegal aliens."

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a Constitutional Convention "to restore the right to keep and bear arms".

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a Constitutional Convention "to limit terms".

 

THERE IS only one kind of Constitutional Convention.

THE only kind of Constitutional Convention; that can be convened is a Constitutional Convention to write a new Constitution.

 

A Constitutional Convention is a legislative body;

which operates ABOVE the limitations of the Constitution.

This makes it more powerful, and MORE DANGEROUS, than any other legislative body.

This is not an opinion, but it if a fact of law.

A Constitutional Convention is a means of DESTROYING the American Republic. A Constitutional Convention is opening a "Pandora's box" for RADICAL change. Once the "genie is out of the bottle" no one can control it.

 

The last time that we had a Constitutional Convention was in 1787, when we got the Constitution that we now have.

 

That Constitutional Convention was convened to make some small changes in the Articles of Confederation. Instead we got a new Constitution.

We were LUCKY that time.

Those who were at that Constitutional Convention were the leaders of a freedom movement; which had just defeated a tyranny.

 

There is a claim that we would be safe because our current constitution says that ratification would be required by three fourths of the states. What if the new constitution does not say that?

The last time that we had a constitutional convention one of the first things that they did was change the rules for ratification that were in place under the Articles of Confederation. That is why ratification now requires three fourths of the states.

So here is the only precedent that we have for a consitutional convention:

They initially met to make a few limited changes in the Articles of Confederation. 

Then they threw out the Articles of Confederation and started over. They included changing the rules for ratification.

 

Now we are being told that the only thing that has ever happened previously, is what cannot happen!

 

Go down to your State House and talk with your current elected officials. Can you consistantly pass legislation that protects you from unconstitutional usurpation now? What is to stop them from again throwing the whole thing out, and again changing the rules for ratification?

 

Our problem has NOTHING to do with the constitution.

Our problem has to do with the IGNORING OF THE constitution.

Those who ignore the constitution would like nothing better than to make their usurpation legal, by throwing out the constitution, at a Constitutional Convention.

It was ILLEGAL usurpation that has enabled an "elite" class to hijack our nation.

It is that "elite" class; who want to con foolish people into destroying the constitution.

The constitution is the best document for the protection of freedom, that has ever been written.

We only need to adhere to it.

 

The act of calling for a Constitutional Convention will be presented as permission of the people. This is not a theory about their plans. It comes from their actual statements:

YES, The Founding Fathers saw a possibility of a situation,

where a need might arise for COMPLETELY SCRAPING THE CONSTITUTION.
That is not what has happened TODAY.

The only thing that has happened is that there is now a kabal of would be tyrants;

who are getting tired of OCCASIONALLY having to adhere to the constitution.  

These would be tyrants would like to con enough ignorant people into letting them DESTROY THE CONSTITUTION,

so that they can usher in totalitarianism.

 

Having a Constitutional Convention would be like letting your worst enemy give you a heart and lung transplant, and a castration, as a cure for hiccups.

 

Having a Constitutional Convention would be like burning the house down as a means of accomplishing pest control.

 

Article V of The Constitution lays out the only two ways to change The Constitution:

 

1.  The Amendment process: A specific, and clearly defined, change that is limited to what is written in the amendment.

 

2.  The Constitutional Convention: A process to scrap the entire constitution and replace it with something else. ANY type of amendment can be considered.

We understand that there are those who want to destroy the American constitution. We also understand that it would be foolish for those thugs to admit that it is their goal to destroy the American constitution. It would be much more clever if those thugs were to claim that they only wanted to make a few small changes. Of course, if it was true that they only wanted to make a few small changes, then they would not need a Constitutional Convention. They would simply propose those amendments.

 

Imagine this scenario:

You wake up in the middle of the night to a noise in your living room.

You grab your gun, and you find two thugs loading bags full of valuables.

You hold the gun at the ready.

One of the thugs says:

"Now that is a really fine gun. But you really need to clean it. Why not hand it over to me, and I will clean it for you."

The other thug says

"Oh there is nothing to worry about. If you do not like the way he uses the gun then of course you can insist that he give it back!" 

 

You would say "How stupid do you think I am?"

 

If someone suggested handing over your gun to a mugger, after instructing him on all the rules that he must follow after he gets your gun, wouldn't you question his motives? It is not rocket science. 

 

When we see someone asking us to hand over the gun of a constitutional convention, we must conclude that he is one of two things:

    1. He is an unbelievably stupid fool

OR

    2. He is a thug, with an ulterior motive, who thinks that the WE are unbelievably stupid.

 

There is a limit to the amount of time for which it is possible to assume that this is an unbelievably stupid suggestion, being made because of mere stupidity. Eventually it will become clear that we are dealing with a thug, with an ulterior motive, who thinks that the WE are unbelievably stupid.

IT WILL BE JUST AS EASY to ignore a new constitution as it is to ignore the one that we have now.

 

IT just will NOT BE NECESSARY to ignore a new constitution,

since it will say what the New World Order wants it to say.

 

The problem is not what the constitution SAYS.

The problem is what OUR GOVERNMENT DOES.

We need to change what OUR GOVERNMENT DOES.

We do not need to change what the constitution SAYS, other than repealing the 14th, 16th and the 17th amendments.

 

Constitutional Convention is perceived as a means of restoring power to the states. Yet it is possible to achieve this without writing a new constitution.
