Spelling suggestion: "The questing[question?] before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery;"
I heard this address delivered by a Canadian gentleman acting as Patrick Henry in full costume. It was at the LP10 convention at Denver. A very contentious general session when the chair announced a suspension of the rules to hear a message of great importance.
The houselights went down and a single spotlight picked up a caped figure in a tricorner hat and silver buckled shoes who strode across the crowded floor and up to the podium. It was Patrick Henry! His address electrified the house entire. He exited in the dark, and when the house lights came up, we were in a different convention. I'm still impressed.
We need that change of attitude, here, today.
If we let ourselves be disarmed we and our children will be enslaved for generations.
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
